I was recently commissioned to do a collage of one of my favourite beaches, Trevellas or Blue Hills (I can never decide which name to use!). I made the image by painting sheets of thick paper before cutting the shapes I wanted and glueing them down. I love the effect this creates with the sharp lines and contrast between colours. I've just finished working on a new drawing of Watergate Bay. A really popular beach with surfers looking to escape the hustle of Newquay. In the distance you can see Newquay and the headland stretching out to the Headland Hotel and beyond. The image is available in 4 sizes limited to 50 copies each. Cornwall (and the rest of the UK I think) has seen some amazing weather recently so visits to the beach have been a must. My girlfriend Laura and I had a barbecue one evening down at one of our favourite little coves on the north coast. A stunning sunset followed which has inspired a new collage which I will start work on soon.

After having a few requests for a drawing of Watergate Bay I decided to take a trip there to take some photos for inspiration. The surf was a fun 3 foot and there were plenty of surfers out enjoying the waves.
