After a numerous requests for me to make a wall calendar I decided to go for it. I've picked 12 of my most popular 'Cornish Surfscape' illustrations to feature on its pages. I'm really pleased with how the calendar has turned out. I chose a thick 'silk' paper stock for the pages which works great with the vibrant images. The cover has a 'Velvet' lamination which looks and feels amazing.I've kept the the page layout clean and simple to reflect my branding and to compliment the illustrations. I was recently commissioned to do a collage of one of my favourite beaches, Trevellas or Blue Hills (I can never decide which name to use!). I made the image by painting sheets of thick paper before cutting the shapes I wanted and glueing them down. I love the effect this creates with the sharp lines and contrast between colours. I've just finished working on a new drawing of Watergate Bay. A really popular beach with surfers looking to escape the hustle of Newquay. In the distance you can see Newquay and the headland stretching out to the Headland Hotel and beyond. The image is available in 4 sizes limited to 50 copies each. Cornwall (and the rest of the UK I think) has seen some amazing weather recently so visits to the beach have been a must. My girlfriend Laura and I had a barbecue one evening down at one of our favourite little coves on the north coast. A stunning sunset followed which has inspired a new collage which I will start work on soon.
