Every so often in Cornwall a sand bank will form in an unusual place creating a novel and rare wave. In this instance a significant amount of sand had built up at the base of the cliffs close to Wheal Coates at Chapel Porth, creating hollow waves just metres away from the rocks. I took this photo on an early mid summer's morning. Just myself and a good friend enjoyed marvelling at the beauty of these waves and the surroundings as the sun's rays emerged over the cliff top. I couldn't think of a better way to start the day.
